Marie Lou Coffee - Premium coffee

Small-batch coffee, roasted at home in Munich.

I'm Marcel. I roast coffee in small amounts for friends and family while I work on the certification to do this properly. Have a look around, and reach out if you'd like to try a bag.

Small batches

Every bag comes from a batch of just a few kilos. Nothing sits on a shelf. What I roast this week is what gets shared this week.

Carefully sourced

I buy green coffee through fair-trade importers I've researched and trust. Quality and the way growers are treated are non-negotiable.

Done by hand

I roast on a small machine I built and tuned myself. Slow, careful, one batch at a time.

About Marie Lou

Marie Lou was my grandmother. She wasn't a coffee snob, but she almost always had a fresh pot on the stove for whoever stopped by.

Years later I started learning to roast. When I had to pick a name, hers was the one I kept coming back to, because what I want from this is the same thing she modelled: make something good, share it with people.

That's the whole project. No big mission statement, no marketing promises.

If you'd like to try a bag, the contact page is the easiest way to reach me.

More about how this works
How this works

From the farm to your shelf

01

Sourcing

Green beans from fair-trade importers I've researched and trust. Every lot is chosen for quality and for how growers are paid.

02

Roasting

A few kilos at a time on a machine I built. I log every batch, taste, and adjust the next one.

03

Tasting

Every batch gets cupped before it leaves the kitchen. If something is off, it doesn't go out.

04

Sharing

To friends, family, and people who reach out. By hand, usually within a week of roasting.
